Accumulator Charging Valve
The accumulator charging valve is designed for open hydraulic systems and is installed between the pump and downstream secondary hydraulic devices, such as a power steering control valve and cylinders within the same hydraulic circuit.
The valve draws fluid from a fixed displacement pump to charge the accumulator as needed, completing the charging at a preset flow rate and pressure, while maintaining a constant flow within the set pressure range.
During accumulator charging, the flow to downstream auxiliary hydraulic devices is reduced; however, this does not significantly affect their operation. As long as the relief valve does not interfere with flow or pressure transmission from the pump, the downstream secondary hydraulic devices can always access full system pressure.
The charging flow rate and the upper and lower pressure limits of the accumulator are set during production.
